Growing up on a sheep and beef farm in Reporoa, horticulture was never really on the radar for me. After university & a move across the ditch to AU, I fell into the horticulture world as a means to an end and have been pleasantly surprised ever since. I spent 3 years in the Brisbane produce wholesale markets working for a company called Ausmarket consultants where I was working as a 3rd party industry consulant to the supermarket chains. Moving home to Tauranga in 2017 I joined the Just Avocados team in the Quality & Compliance department. I am currently in the process of developing my own Avocado Orchard in the far north & I’m enjoying practicing what I preach (so to speak).

I like that the industry is vast and the jobs diverse but mostly, I enjoy all the people I get to meet and interact with. There are many opportunities available in this industry to those that seek them out – if and when you do you will undoubtedly be greatly rewarded.
